CONFERENCE VENUE

The University of Athens Campus (Panepistimioupolis) is located at Ilissia area, Athens.
Conference sessions will take place in the Lecture Theatre “Aristotle”, located in the Conference Centre of Faculty of Physics (download Campus Map).

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Athens International Airport to Central Athens
Athens International Airport is located 33 km south-east of the city centre and is accessible via Attiki Odos (the Athens City Ring Road). Public transport between Athens city centre and the airport is provided by (a) express buses, (b) metro, (c) railway and (d) taxis.

Central Athens to Panepistimiopolis
Nearest Metro Station is “Evangelismos”. The following bus lines are running from the city centre through “Evangelismos” to the University Campus (note bus stops on Campus Map):

• 221: Get off at bus stop “Scholeio” or bus stop "Foititiki Estia" for Oulaf Palme Campus Gate. From there get the Shuttle Bus service or bus line 250 free of charge to the Conference Centre. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Physics Conference Centre.

• Shuttle Bus running inside the Campus free of charge – ask the driver to drop you off at the Physics Conference Centre.

• 250 (from “Evangelismos” Metro station): ask the driver to drop you off at the Physics Conference Centre inside the Campus.

• 608: Get off at bus stop “Terma” (last stop on the line) for Zographou Campus Gate. From there walk to Conference Centre (15 min walk).

• 224 and 223: Get off at bus stop “Terma” (last stop on the line) for Kaisariani Campus Gate. From there walk to Conference Centre (20 min walk).

Special bus service schedule
A special bus service will be available for travel to and from selected accommodation places. If you stay in a different Hotel and you wish to use this bus service you are advised to either walk to the nearest pick up point or use the Athens Metro to Megaron Musikis stop and then walk to Athinais Hotel. Times and pick up points for the special bus service is as follows:

Departure for the field trip to Lavrion on Wednesday 2 April is from the Campus Main Gate at 8.00 am.
